Skating Programs
All students are required have a properly fitted CSA hockey helmet with face cage, ice skates, and warm mittens. We recommend that students wear slush or rain pants, a warm jacket or sweater, and a face mask/cage on their helmet. Ski or snow pants and hockey equipment (i.e. hockey gloves) are not recommended as they are too bulky and will hinder students learning. All equipment brought to the rink should be clearly labeled with the players' first and last name.
Learn to Skate - Age 3 & 4
August 11 - 15 (5 day) BILL HUNTER ARENA
August 18 - 22 (5 day) CALLINGWOOD ARENA B
This camp is an introductory skating program for Ages 3 and 4. It is a FUN program that introduces children of pre-school age to the basics of getting up off the ice, standing, balancing, and movement on the ice. Our belief is to introduce Fun, Fitness, and Skill Development at this age and build a curiosity of learning for future years to come.

Our belief at this level is to encourage Fun, Fitness and Skill Development in every class so that skating may become a lifetime activity to enjoy!
The levels in Basic skating are from Beginner through to Level 3. If your child is 5 or older and a beginner they should also register here. Basic Skating will be comprised of a 45 minute on-ice component.

INTRODUCTION TO POWERSKATING
AGE: 6-9 Years old
***Prerequisite: Players must be able to skate the length of the ice, forwards and backwards, and be able to do a hockey stop both directions. We highly recommend that skaters have completed Level 3 in the Learn-to-Skate program. Participants who are new to skating are recommended to start in our Basic Skating Class. This class is not for individuals new to skating.
This Introduction to Powerskating is designed to begin refining the skating techniques of both hockey and ringette players. The focus of this program is to begin to develop these Powerskating skills at a basic level, with strong repetition and error detection and correction.
Instructors will use skill-building and progressive programming to teach players, in full equipment, the skating skills needed to enjoy the game!
This introductory program is run by Crestwood Skating Club and is not affiliated with Quantum Speed’s Advanced Powerskating program.
Equipment Requirement: Please be advised that all students are REQUIRED to wear full hockey or ringette equipment including stick. Helmets must have a face cage.
